Mark Roth and Medical Bills
I have been using my soapbox here to try to get people to support health care reform. Many Americans refuse to understand how badly we need to do this. They believe their health care is just fine. This year over 1 million Americans will be forced to file bankruptcy because of medical bills. Most of them had health insurance that did not pay all of the expenses run up during a serious illness, even when they thought they were covered.
Mark Roth was one of the guys I watched on Saturday afternoons on ABC TV when I was growing up. Remembering his power and the way he hooked the ball and blasted pins all over the alley is memory which always brings a smile. The man could bowl.
Recently he had a stroke and to pay the high bills, he was forced to sell much of his memorabilia including his Hall of Fame ring. Say what you want about people you don’t know and the unemployed who might be in this spot, but Mr. Roth is an example of a lot of Americans who are in a position they should not be in. It could be you, or your parents, or your friends, or a 62 year-old retired Hall of Fame bowler.

What I like is Wayne pointing out that other people do not have health insurance. Yes, Wayne, if Mr. Roth did not have health insurance, which is unlikely, then he should have had the health insurance by getting (watch it coming Wayne) a job with health insurance or saving money when he was rolling in it (excuse the pun) to have health insurance in his old age.
This is America Wayne, join us 85% who have health insurance…..
BTW: Love the sarcasm in Lively for Emperor…. Keep it up.
Why aren’t you nasty commenters flocking to Emperor Lively’s defense? He’s talking about all the doctor visits, pharmacy vials, and hospital stays you want – and we make somebody else pay for it! Free counseling, free chiropracty, free personal trainers.
